Many of ushave discoveredknitted felting inadvertently when our favorite wool sweater found its way into a load of laundry and came out as 3 sizes too small! But when done intentionally, felting produces a remarkably soft, thick, fuzzy fabric that is water-resistant, warm, incredibly durable and can be used in a variety of applications. How does felting occur?
Natural fibers such as wool, alpaca, silk to name a few, bind tightly to one another when heated and agitated, the more heat and agitation the tighter the end product. The product is then shaped and dried and finished into a unique durable product.
Each of my designs are created in a number of different styles for a variety of uses. Each creation is features the finest quality yarns from around the world, using fair trade yarns from developing nations and hand-spun and dyed yarns whenever possible. The yarns are combined in creative ways, and every yarn combination produces a different, wonderful color and texture.
